Under the graduated natural gas tariff the Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Ministry will apply for the first time this winter, bills for 2.8 million subscribers exceeding the province-based limit will double as the state subsidy is lifted.
These households, about 12% of the 21.8 million subscribers across Türkiye, will pay all their consumption at the higher tariff. The ministry currently applies a subsidy of more than 50% to natural gas bills.
